About Ms. Burke's Books
I'm a secondary school librarian in Northern Virginia; I spent 12 years as a classroom teacher, 2 years as a middle school librarian, & am now a high school librarian.
Ms. Burke's Books was originally created to further talk about my favorite topic: books! But as I looked for ideas & inspiration as a secondary librarian, I realized that there is not as many blogs or social media accounts dedicated to us. This site hopes to fill a bit of that void by sharing library lessons, programming ideas, and other aspects of being a high school librarian.
About Kellie
As a former social studies teacher, it will be unsurprising to know that one of my favorite genres is historical fiction. I also read a lot of realistic/contemporary fiction, mysteries, & thrillers.
Beyond the library, most of my time is spent with my family, which includes my two kids, husband, & senior dog. I enjoy traveling , playing the piano, reading (of course), & taking naps.
